Ripe, soft and firm. The upfront palate displays fruit flavours of blackberry jam and hints of cherry cola. The mid palate is herbal and spiced with flavours of cinnamon and Chinese Five Spice. The back palate is soft and dry with a nutty, almost vanillin finish.
This very special wine is only made in exceptional years. 2013 was an exceptional and very low yielding year with very little rainfall with each vine only producing a few precious bunches. This wine is produced from fifty year old vines grown in medium density silty clay loams over limestone which are ideal for producing classic Australian Shiraz styles.
Medium bodied. The upfront fruit flavours are ripe and brooding. Fresh wild berries and plum abound. The mid palate is savoury displaying briar like nuances. The back palate is dry, soft, lingering with a cleansing acidity.
