2022 Durif, Barossa Valley, South Australia
This wine is bold rich fruit driven wine some would say intense flavours.
This wonderful Hybrid grape variety made famous in Australia in North East Victoria around Rutherglen and Glenrowan and first planted in the late 1800’s. It is also known as Petit Sirah
Aromas of this Barossa Durif are definitely the dark fruits like Mulberry, Blackberry, Black Cherries. You will also see spiciness of Black Pepper and a hint of liquorice . On top of this there is some earthiness and whiffs of dark chocolate.
The wine is bold rich fruit driven wine some would say intense flavours. Deep colour fruit with firm but smooth tannins. This wine has everything. Rich concentrated dark fruit, flavours of dark chocolate and Mochca. It is full bodied, almost slightly jammy. There is long lingering finish.
Share this with a friend and bring out the Tomahawk or a very large Rib Eye Steak because I think you might want to open a second bottle,
