This wine has a wonderful clarity to it, almost a light gooseberry.

    • Bouquet

I feel I’m in the garden with a combination of honeysuckle, a light fragrance of jasmine and maybe possibly some Honeydew Melon if there is some fruit.

    • Palate

Some quite rich mandarin/ cumquat flavours with lovely fresh acidity coming through on the back palate. The texture is also quite creamy.

    • Peak Drinking / Cellaring Potential

I prefer this wine young, a great all-rounder verandah wine (Written June 2023).

    • Food Matches

Just pick up the phone and book a table at Red Lantern in Sydney. I was involved in a food and wine matching lunch where the Verdelho paired so well with some of the shared plates like, Red Lanterns Famous Chili Salted Squid with lemon and pepper dipping sauce or Soft Shell Crab, Green Papaya Salad with Vietnamese Herbs and Nuoc cham. Asian foods work so well. - John The Pom
